In this role, you will be responsible for defining, leading and managing the integration of Silver Springs’ Smart Energy Platform communications modules (NICs) into a broad range of domestic and international energy metering products. Additionally, you will grow Silver Springs’ metering services and applications to meet the ever expanding requirements of AMI and Smart Grid solutions.

As Product Manager for Metering Products, you will be the owner of your product line and responsible for your product positioning along with competitive analysis to guarantee Silver Springs’ metering products are market leaders. This position reports to the Senior Director of Metering Products.

Essential Functions:

Formulate and execute metering product strategy with cross-functional teams and metering partners.
Translate and prioritize customer and market requirements into product requirements.
Lead and manage cross-functional product teams to deliver market leading features, products and services; through all phases of the product life cycle.
Analyze product market segments and perform competitive analysis of those segments; drive strategies to increase product benefits in target segments.
Identify and develop partnerships necessary to offer a complete solution in the market place.
Serve as a spokesperson for Silver Spring Networks’ metering product, both internally and externally.
Requires approximately 25% travel.
Required Skills
6+ years experience in Product Management of high volume products. Forward looking. Data-driven. Results oriented.
Technical bachelor’s degree is required. MBA is preferred.
Strong understanding of RF basics and network technologies; 802.15.4, ZigBee, IP networking and routing protocols.
Proven ability to initiate and author comprehensive product requirements. Should be able to provide work product sample.
Demonstrable experience with product management techniques; product positioning, manufacturing practices, and managing full product lifecycles.
Experience with utility electricity meters and/or utility industry not required, but a strong plus.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; detail oriented and highly organized.
Team player with demonstrated leadership skills; global and/or virtual product team experience strong plus.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
